The Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) – Civil Division is awarded to individuals who have made a major contribution in their field, such as public service, charity, education, business, the arts, or community leadership. It recognises impact at a national or regional level over an extended period.
The medal is a cross patonce in silver-gilt, with pale blue enamel arms. The central medallion features the crowned effigy of the reigning monarch, encircled by the motto “For God and the Empire”. The reverse shows the royal cypher. Civil awards do not feature the military laurel wreath. Replicas are marked with the word “COPY”.
The ribbon is rose pink with pearl grey edges. It does not include the central pearl grey stripe used in military division awards. The colours reflect dignity and service to the nation.

SPECIFICATIONS:If you order your medal unmounted, the medal and ribbon will be supplied as separate components. Miniature medals will be supplied with 15cm of ribbon and full size medals will be supplied with 30cm of ribbon.
