The Australian Corrections Medal is a distinguished award established to honour the exceptional service and dedication of both current and former members of Australian correctional services. Eligibility for this esteemed medal requires individuals to have:

  • Demonstrated exceptional commitment to the rehabilitation and welfare of inmates, significantly contributing to the well-being of the community; or
  • Made significant contributions to the advancement of correctional practices, protocols, or community engagement, as determined by the relevant state or territory correctional authority.

Design

The Australian Corrections Medal is a circular piece crafted from nickel-silver. The obverse showcases the Federation Star, at the centre of which sit the scales of justice. This design is set against a backdrop of Australian wattle.

The accompanying ribbon, with a width of 32 millimetres, displays a central blue band that is bordered by stripes in shades of white and mustard green.

Unmounted Medals

If you order your medal unmounted, the medal and ribbon will be supplied as separate components. Miniature medals will be supplied with 15cm of ribbon and full size medals will be supplied with 30cm of ribbon.
